Patchwork tutor in SE for one day session?

I have been trying to find a patchwork tutor who would take my mum, my sister and me for a day of sewing - hopefully creating a (presumably small) item for my mum. We have a sewing machine each and are vaguely proficient.

Does anyone know of anyone who runs this type of activity who you would recommend? Ideally they would need to be located in London or Herts/Beds/Bucks/Hants/Surrey sort of area.

Any recommendations much appreciated - thanks very much Smile

I'd look at the adult education/community education sections of local colleges...ours always ha e quilting classes. People who run those classes would be experienced and no doubt happy to have a private class.

Look at More Sewing in Worthing. It is not in your specified area but you could enjoy a seaside outing :)

i've only been to this as a shop but they seem to do courses too - or at least might be able to recommend someone?

I know a great teacher, she has classes at The Village Haberdashery and blogs over at www.needlesandlemons.com/. Or you could try a class at Ray Stitch (London N1), Liberty have some brilliant classes too.
