Knitting patterns: cast your minds back to winter please

hello

as I may or may not have mentioned before, I now live in Australia and it's winter - although it was 22 degrees today with brillian blue sky, funny that - and I need some funky knitting patterns to peruse. Australian fashion is dire so I am calling on my Homeland's world famous creativity.

It has to be hard wearing and pretty casual and I have to fit a big pair of norks in it so no round necks please

Thanks very much

Funnily enough, for patterns using Rowan and similar I actually use an Australian site for searching, because it's so well set up. The Wool Shack lets you select a yarn you like, and then there's a button to click on to "see all patterns using this yarn". They're all ones you have to buy though. I would definitely second Knitty as the first port of call, and you could try The Daily Knitter for a searchable index of free patterns, or Magknits .

Blimey Nora, there are some terrifyingly sexless garments out there. I mean why would you want to look like an upholstered item?

I like the Lana Grossa site best

DIdn't someone once post a link to a site called You Knit What??!! or something.

There are some truly grim patterns out there, it has to be said. Garnstudio might be worth a look too. Mind you, if you want sexy, you can't go wrong with a bikini top (scroll down). And there's always Sex and the Knitty

actually \link{http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer04/PATTzaftig.html\this] would be a good pattern to play around with, adding sleeves and body, just to see how to fit a bosom in a garment. Oh I love knitting, after 7 years neglect I feel the pull of the wool again. Thanks
