Which thread can DD use to make friendship bracelets?

Can any of you lovely crafty people advise me please? :) I bought DD a set from Tesco, so that she could make friendship bracelets, but she's caught the bug and has used it already!

I'm just looking on eBay to see if I can find a bundle, but not quite sure what to look for. Will just plain old embroidery thread do?

Thank you!

My dsd (at uni) uses my stash of beads and embroidery thread and the bracelets turn out lovely.

something like this would be fine:

You need embroidery silks, at least that's what we have used with success - they are thicker, silkier & come in all kinds of lovely colours including ombré - you'll find them in your local haberdashery

I use embroidery thread, all threads. They are great fun to make

you may find packs of embroidery silks on a haberdashery stall at your local market. Much cheaper than the branded Anchor or DMC or similar you get in shops, and perfectly fine for friendship bracelets.

Oh that's brilliant, thanks so much for the quick replies! I can get it ordered tonight now and hopefully she'll have it by the weekend.

I'm really impressed, she's been watching you tube videos and is making all sorts of cool patterned ones. She definitely doesn't get her craftiness from me!! :)

I used to sell lots of these on eBay! Yes, embroidery thread and beads :)
