Tapestry Christmas stocking

I have never done tapestry before, but am possessed of the urge to make DD a Christmas stocking

I have seen these and like them

But I am also considering making my own design.

How easy is that? Tips? I am envisaging squared paper and things

well if your anything like me it depends on which Christmas you want it for. one of those would take me years!

I have made four - one for each of my children. I can't link here as on phone, but I did the 'Christmas Alphabet' ones from Jolly Red. I did enjoy it, but was also quite glad when I finally finished the last one (youngest was 2!)

Yay, responses! DD is only 10mo so while I was kind of planning for her to have it this Christmas it won't matter too much if it's next.

Panic wow four! impressed. I love the Jolly Red ones too, especially the name at the top. I think all the online pics I've seen of them are a bit low res. Are they beautiful?

There should be a picture up now - for some reason it's the one from my phone, so may be no better than the JR site - I can't find the ones I took on the 'proper' camera, even though I know that I did!
