Fabric for ring slings

I've made a ring sling before from linen but it is a little warm and of course creases! I'm making one for someone and wondered what other fabrics would be ok. The instructions say to use 'bottom weight' fabrics, so I gather that means ones suitable for trousers or skirts.

I'd like to choose a fun print, how do I know what fabrics online are suitable and any recommendations for sites?

I don't know in general but I do know that Calin Bleu, who make pretty lightweight wovens if you don't know, do sell their material: www.calinbleu.com/fabric/

Corduroy?

You'd be best with a pretty strong woven cotton I think - usually broken twill or diamond twill fabric.

Thanks, id like to use a cotton type, I'm not sure how I spot those types of cotton fabrics when buying online, they mostly just seem to expect you to choose based on the pattern.
Any sites you'd recommend?

I'm not sure whether my post was clear, Calin Bleu sell woven cotton which is specifically designed and safety tested for carrying babies. It's the same as they use for their own woven wraps. They're just a bit thinner than most woven wraps. Sorry if I'm now being patronising Smile

Glorious - I did see them and thanks for clarifying. Ill probably go down that route but did fancy a pattern really. In fact I'm tempted to buy myself some of the Calin blew fabric and redo my own as I'm finding the linen really hard to adjust as it doesn't pull through the rings too well.

Yes I'd fancy a pattern too, the fabric is quite dull isn't it. My friend tie dyed hers but that's not to everyone's taste Grin

Thanks for the help glorious. When I showed my SIL the colours of fabrics and rings she chose the black fabric anyway.
I'm a bit worried her sling is going to be nicer to use than my linen one and so I may end up making myself one from the Calin bleu fabric!

Nice of you to make one for SIL Smile I think the wider width fabric will make two so you have the perfect excuse Grin

It suggests doubling for a ring sling so I'd just have to pick another colour ;)
