Decorative fabric ideas for my DDs bedroom

I'm finishing decorating my 14 year old dds bedroom and am now turning my attention to the lovely 'fun' bits! All my inspirational books are currently packed away - big renovation project - so I hope you lot will come to my rescue ..............

She has a beautiful multi-coloured quilt and we have managed to buy another one to use to accessorise her room. I suppose we're looking at hangings, bunting, tie-backs etc.

If you could help us by linking to easy-to-follow websites or photos of your own projects, we'd be really grateful.

Many thanks.

Are you on Pinterest ??? - if not you need to be, you will find endless photos of ideas & craft projects on there to search through to inspire you - if you need an invite shout

Should have been more clear - If you don't already knowing, it a members only site, you can just apply to join, but they are a bit weird with their memberships - sometimes you get in easily, but other times they seem to take a dislike to your email & you never hear back, so invites from a member is usually quicker

A fabric noticeboard? One of those lightly padded ones with criss-crossed ribbon.

I've bought a string of fairy lights with wire 'cages' that look like hearts. they're battery powered so I've just coiled them up in a clear vase as a nightlight on her bookcase.

I love that idea, SD! We've plenty of spare fabric so that would be ideal. Smile

Does your DD have any ideas?

Rockinhippy · 17/08/2013 09:12

Fabric/patchwork bean bag, or some sort of floor cushions might work well, also some sort of cloth storage bags to hang on a row of coat hooks - I've made something like this for our kitchen to store snacks in.

Basically drawstring gym bags, with a zip at the centre front so you can open it & easily see to get out what you need - separate ones for belts, scarves, sock, underwear etc etc - hang them on an a basic wall mounted coat rack that you have painted & decorated with fabric bits, ribbon, trims, buttons etc to make a display of them.

I wish she did, SD!! She has a cursory look at some websites and then returns to her book!

Love your suggestions, RIH. Definitely one to try. Smile
