Theres a few threads on here about that. Pixiefish has just organised one - see the 'Organising a crop' thread Smile

I did a card club in Somerset, quite a good one- we got coverage from the mags. Where in S Wales are you? Just wondering if you're near me, as I know someone else who wants to do a club but needs some guidance.

What advice do you need? I will see if I can help

i'm in bridgend and know there isnt one here yet.
i havent been doing it long but seem to have done loads (creating one each for ds and dd then one of my life!) so i'm not an expert and make up most if my ideas as i go along (prob the idea)but would like to meet others, get advice/ideas perhaps have outings to shows/fairs/large shops etc.....
jsut really fancy it but owndered how much work is really involved in orgainsg and paying for venue, arranging memberships etc...finances...

wouldnt mind setting one up with someone - halve the tasks/orgainsing......?

i started in february so am in the same boat as you. is there a local craft shop that you could use to put posters up in and get on side to promote it to their customers?
you need a venue- a village hall or similar. they normally charge for this so you need to factor this in your charges.
advertise-local craft shops, newsagents.
get people to phone you to book their place so you have an idea of numbers.
If you want to get a 'page kit' then factor that into the charge but you don't have to. I'm getting a friend to put some together for me- just a basic kit of co-ordinating materials. The local craft shop owner is also going to come to the crop and I've asked her/we've agreed that she'll bring some basics along in boxes, tape, papers, inks, stamps, papers etc. If anyone forgets anything there'll be supplies and also it gets her 'on side' and promoting away. As things establish and numbers increase then we'll see about a charge or something but initially I need her to be there.
