DDS SLEEPOVER PARTY - CRAFT IDEA - WHAT DO YOU THINK IS BEST?

DD1 is having a sleepover party for her 7th birthday in a couple of weeks. I am going to do a craft with them all so they have something nice to take home with them.
A friend of mine is lending me her fabric pens which you iron on.
I thought about buying some plain white t-shirts for them to decorate but a suggestion has been made to me about them decorating pillowcases to keep with the theme of a sleepover party. Quite a nice idea I think as kids like to accessorise the bedrooms at this age.

Which do you think? T-shirts or Pillowcases? Votes now please? TIA Smile

Id do tshirts, you can also get great puffa paint which you draw on with, then use hairdryer to 'puff' up. Have fun, this is a great idea!

Either is a fab idea....i have never thought of doing something like thisEnvy, and think what a lovely mummy your DD has to do something like like this:)

T-shirts might be cheaper thing to buy tho as you can get several to a pack, or even get the value ones from tesco, and they seem like good value for money and in my experience wash well too!
also, with pillows you aren't really going to want anything that may irritate skin etc while they are sleeping on them.

good luck and let us know how it goes as I am now wanting to do something similar for when my DD3 (will be 8 next b/day) has her b/day sleepover...altho that isn't till december so will have plenty of time to gather things up:)

Oooh I've literally just finished doing a craft party for dd1's birthday! I would also go with t-shirts for age 7 - kids love to wear something they have created themselves at that age.

Dd1 just turned 9 and we made felt which we then made into cards, and did glass painting onto jars for them to keep.

Another tip - you will need at least one adult to two children for the actual painting as they will need a lot of help Smile

Thanks guys. DH will be here too so he will be the extra pair of hands. We are taking the kids to pizza hut for tea as well - will probably take the bus there too so that should use up a few hours of the evening. Smile
I'm leaning more towards the t-shirt idea too. Not sure what the pens are my friend has but she has said that they are really good.

WE've done t-shirts with pens before - they come out really well and go through the washing machine better than painted ones too. Dd1 has one that she made at bensmum3's ds1's bd party two years ago and it's still going strong Smile
