How many projects do you have "on the go"

I just tidied out my wardrobe - not the one I have for clothes - the one I keep all my craft stuff in and found..........

26 part finished projects - ranging from a cross stitch picture of a wizard (WHY?!?!) to a felt Christmas hanging, a ribbon bookmark, 3 necklaces part finished , a decopatch notebook - almost finished, some felt hearts needing stuffing and finishing, crochet flowers to be hotglued to a headband, bunting that has been cut but not sewn yet, a wirework bracelet, a beaded Christmas bauble that needs finishing off, and a handmade bobbin lace Christmas decoration half done.....

Trouble is I ALSO found a whole load of stash that I forgot I had and have a couple of new projects in mind....

Anyone else going to confess......... whilst I stuff those hearts....

I have a cross-stitch kit with around a dozen stitches in, an unfinished crochet blanket for dd and an in-progress Angel Hug.

And housework........

Not sure re: sewing and dressmaking, once I start I have to finish but have materials for at least 6 things I'm meant to be getting on with.

At least 10 knitting: 3 or 4 pairs socks, 2 scarfs, 2-3 jumpers (one way too difficult), 2 hats. The intoxication of casting something new on is addictive

I think that is it exactly fossil971 it is the starting something new that is the best part of crafting - and the finishing, but if there is anything in the middle that puts you off the project - I totally "get" the funny looking face thing Whatalotofpiffle - then there is a reluctance to finish what I know won't be perfect...

But I'm glad I'm not the only one - and it has spurred me to finish some projects - I'm going to pick up a different one every month - it may or may not get finished, but it will get some time spent on it....

2 quilts and 1 crosstitch. But I have the pattern and material for 2 dresses and several quilts.
I am running out of houseroom and have started making quilts for people whether they want them or not.

How could anyone not want a quilt!!! NONE of my friends are "crafty" folks - so I get to do the making here and never get to be the recipient.....

I could not possible count...or admit...to that question.

How far back do you need me to go? I can probably admit to an unfinished patchwork throw that has been boxed up for about 30 years! All hand cut and hand stitched hexagons!!!!

I have a few x-stitch projects that are over 15 years old too!

I must have several knitting projects in some state of completion, stashed all over the house, and in the loft. The latest being a pair of boot cuffs!

As for my paper crafting....erm...well lets just say, my craft room is bursting at the seams!

lol - my wizard cross stitch is 26 years in the making.....

I don't want to look in the craft tower (Ikea Antonius, v useful for storing fabric collection!) for fear of unleashing the full horror, but off the top of my head:

One mustard cardigan, knitted about 30 rows.
One jacket attempt - tried to repurpose fabric from fab vintage jacket into more modern style, ran out of fabric at the sleeves
One top, unhemmed.
One bunny toy, unstuffed.
One baby cardigan, half knitted (to be fair, I am actually working on this)
More fabric and wool than I could use in a decade (but it was a bargain and it'll come in useful someday!)

I find collecting craft materials for possible future projects as thrilling as starting them, so the stash is an issue, too. Perhaps I'll start to use them before I buy more, oh and finish what I've started, grrr!! Perfectionist, so actually finishing a project is almost an impossibility!

Hoo hoo time to unburden. Currently in my UFO drawer:
Lilac horseshoe stitch jumper, half done when I had 1 baby. Never continued because I don't get time to concentrate..
Lavender Bags, cut out, unstuffed
Two small applique purses
About 4 squares into a patchwork quilt
Knitted pieces of a rabbit toy
Bunting, cut out not sewn
Three cards in various states of unfinish
Two dolls, cut out, not sewn (but in all fairness these are my current proj and likely to get done...)

1 Angel Hug (5 1/2 of 9 10 inch squares done);

1 knitted Little Hug (1 ball of wool of 3 used - Rowan pure wool 4 ply - feels SO lovely);

1 knitted Billie's Blanket (about 1/3 of the way through - stripy so several balls of wool on the go at once);

1 cotton and fleece Little Hug (which may or may not get finished - it's all cut out and laid out, but I don't like sewing as much - because I'm not creating the fabric myself like with knitting/crochet, I feel like I'm spending an awful lot of time doing nothing, and when it's finished it looks too easy and feels like I've "cheated" a bit, even though it's taken me ages...crikey I'm complicated);

1 granny stripe blanket (Stylecraft special DK - which I might send to Little Hugs or I might just keep for myself as I started with a 300 stitch foundation chain so it's going to be massive and maybe just a bit too big for a Little Hug);

1 blanket for my bed (VERY long term project in Sirdar baby bamboo - I've only done one 4 inch square, but I've got this terribly ambitious design in my head which is going to look awesome if I ever finish it);

I also have 10 balls of Rowan organic Belle (a wool/cotton mix) in gorgeous muted bright colours which have been ring fenced for a blanket for a friend's baby due at the end of the year, and again I've got a terribly ambitious design in my head, so I had better get cracking;

Plus a load of cards with cross stitch inserts that I keep meaning to start on (the last one I did was 10cm x 10cm and took me approximately 40 hours to do, which might have something to do with why they're just sitting there being thought about at the moment.

Looking at that list I feel terribly sorry for RatherBeOnThePiste who has to put up with my handwriting and random ramblings every time I finish a blanket and post it to her!

And I thought it was just me who kept starting a project but then loses interest!

Currently:

• 2 Emily Peacock crossstitch cushions - x-stitch bit finished but not yet turned into a cushion
• Multiple tapestries to be framed - at least 5 big ones
• Beatrix Potter x-stitch sampler started for DS1 when he was born (he's now nearly 6!)
• quilt to be bound - my first ever quilt from a quilting class I went to months ago & still not finished
• bunting - cut out not sewn (current project though)
• loads of fabrics that I keep buying with a project in mind but haven't even started!

That's the problem with crafting for me - a lot of the fun part is in the planning & buying the materials. Finding the time to actually do it is another matter. I always put it last on my priority list after all the other house & garden chores, as I feel a little guilty doing craft when I know there are lots of other things I should be doing!
