Probably daft crochet pattern question

I'm on my first venture beyond the granny square and am stressed out on row 2 (not a good start!) The pattern says: 2htr in first st, 2htr, 2 htr in next st
I have done the two into the first stitch but I don't understand where I'm supposed to put the 2htr before the two that go in the next stitch. The row before was just a htr in every chain so there are no gaps or anything that seems like an obvious place to put a stitch!

I feel so stupid! Please help so I can make dd her cardi before she reaches puberty.

I think that would mean 2 htr in the first stitch, 1 htr in the second stitch, 1 htr in the third stitch, then 2 htr in the fourth stitch.

Thank you - I can't believe how stupid I am, it seems obvious now!
