Repair New Home 632 Sewing machine or buy a new machine?

MIL has given me her sewing machine, which requires servicing and repairing.

The tensioning button is missing, though the mechanics underneath the button are still there and apparently you just have to fiddle with it to adjust the tension.

My question is, is it worth getting this sewing machine fixed and serviced, or would I be better off buying a new sewing machine.

I know nothing of sewing machines so I can't judge for myself which would be more economical to do!

I dunno but I would look to find the nearest sewing machine specialists and let them have a look and give you a quote.

I have had various sewing machines, and love love love my new home one which came off free cycle. My dad took it to the repairer for me, as minimum it needed its electric cable. I can't remember how much it cost, but it is a brilliant machine.... I could rave on about it, but it's basic and reliable and there's very little of the tension issues that I was having with every other sewing machine I ever touched in. My whole life. I would recommend getting it serviced. It worked out for me.
