How do you sort your yarn stash?

I am sorting stuff out for a local craft swap next week. The cupboard uder the stairs is given over to yarn and I have various huge bags all over the house. How do you sort your yarn? Is there a right way and a wrong way to do it? I am a natural hoarder and not a natural keep-things-tidyer and would love to know what you do with your stash.

I have several of those plastic drawer units (I think I got mine from Aldi, they have three drawers per unit - I have seen similar in B&Q and Wilkinsons). They are in my craft room study under a table.

The drawers are clear so I can see in without opening. I try and keep similar weights and types together. If I have a lot of one brand it may fill a drawer.
One drawer is full of odds and ends and left over bits.

When I am using yarn I have a small trug bucket that I carry it around in, if I am taking a project out I use a bag.
