Can anyone recommend some small crochet projects?

I've just finished a blanket and I need some short and sweet projects to keep me going Any ideas?

Do you want something to make for yourself or your family, or just a small project?

When I am in between projects I make something like this for my local hospital.

Or the are some small projects on the Attic24 blog, like the crochet snowflakes.

I thought these baskets looked quick and simple, but I haven't yet looked into whether I could buy something that would perform like her homemade fabric yarn. 'Cos once you start making your own yarn, it's not a small project anymore, is it?

Covers for milk/water jugs? Circles of any complexity you like then thread beads on around the edge to weight it. My parents use them for covering nighttime glass of water or summer liquids from flies. I use them when I can be bothered to try to prevent hearing the lap lap lap of one of our cats helping themselves to my bedside beverage. Cute, quick and surprisingly v useful

*add - these aren't made with wool but thread cord or lace

Thanks everyone. Very intrigued by the fabric into yarn idea, I might have to try that, I don't mind a bigger project with different parts to it

Why not try some bunting? I have made a few tea pot cosies, little slippers for my DD, a cover for my mobile phone etc.

in the same situation I knit/crochet hats. once you've got the idea of how they're constructed you can easily modify the design, and people always need a hat

For quick projects I love handbag charms and brooches and they make great presents too.
