Where do you buy fabric online? Is it possible?

I live in the Scottish highlands with pretty much no access to fabric shops. Have picked up some at JL when visiting Glasgow but apart from that I have searched online and not found much variety or nice patterns. I know it's hard to do it online but any sites you could recommend would be great. TIA X

I use efabrics.co.uk. Quite a big selection, cheap, some gorgeous printed cottons, fast delivery and good customer service. Tend to steer clear of Ebay since Sellers often seem to have wilfully confusing instructions designed to catch you out

I have thought about it, but like to feel the fabric first iyswim. Might gove it a try now though. Have you ever returned any if it wasn't OK?

I like myfabrics a lot, also favourite fabrics on eBay. I've had some lovely things from there.

I don't think you can return meterage once it's cut. Knowing some brands/makes is helpful is this case, a Liberty Tana Lawn, for example, while expensive, is always going to be nice.

Some websites are more boutiques than others and hopefully would vet their fairies accordingly? For garments, I've ordered from Raystitch before, they seem to carry decent stuff. For quilting I order from a variety of sources, but I tend to know which company has produced which fabric line.

Oohh lots of suggestions, thank you. I should have said that I am looking for a mix of things at the moment, new cushions, curtains and things for me.

The GBSewing Bee seems to have made everyone reach foe their sewing machines again, hope prices dont go up!

Hopefully more people buying fabric will cause prices to go down! More like what stuff costs in the US would be nice. :P

I like cottonpatch.co.uk Its mainly for quilting but has lots of nice fabrics and gets new things in quite often. It can be a little pricy but the service is great.

I've bought quite a few fabrics and bondaweb from ohsewcrafty on ebay.

I also live in the Highlands so no access to fabric shops. I always buy online. I use fabric inspirations quite often. They are very quick at posting and it usually arrives the next day. I've also used efabrics and lots of sellers/shops on ebay includng ohsewcrafty,nortex mill, minerva crafts and fabrics and favourite fabrics. I've never had any problems. I mostly buy quilting weight cottons but have recently got some lovely Harris Tweeds and Manx tweeds on ebay.
