Washable paint for DD who is 20mo - what would you get?

We have just started to squeeze the last out of the pack I got from Wilkos and as we do art quite a bit, I am keen to get bigger sets in more exciting colours. Have been looking at these and wondering if anyone can point me to similar but cheaper or if these are recommended? Ooh! I haven't used these but they look great and good value working out at £1.33 for a 600ml bottle. I'll have to see if I can clear enough space to store 12 bottles worth!

I know - exactly what I thought! I already have a giant box of stamps/playdough and glitter glue! Looks like another box needs to fit somewhere...

We have these at our toddler group and they are brilliant. They do go a long way and keep well. Value is good compared to what you get in Tesco, it actually covers really well. You can water it down for string painting or straw blowing :)

Easy peasy to wash out, DD got black on a light cardi, came out no problems. Washes off easily with soap and water.

We used it with babies and upwards for handprints recently for Mother's Day craft, obviously you don't want them to eat it, but the odd lick is fine.

You can also buy this in powder form you mix with water (tempura paint), my stash has been handed down to me by my MiL who ran the play group I attended as a preschooler (and I'm 32 this year!). As long as it's stored well it is still good for years (decades).

Thanks Kelly - kept seeing tempura paint on various blogs but forgetting to google it! I know what it is now! Great to know this paint does actually wash out. The orange crayola pen she has (supposedly washable) seems to be the one in the set I can't get off not only her hands but clothes and the back door so I wanted to make sure this time :)

Oh great! Logged back on to amazon to order the paint this morning and the price has gone back up! Still a good deal but not as good as it was. Did you order some ohhullits?

don't buy red. Red stains like nobodys business.

You can add some dishwasher detergent to the paint before use and it comes out easier.

Oooh that's a good idea! I only have liquid detergent - is that OK?
We've been painting paper plates and it seems to be containing the mess better than usual. Just starting to run out of ideas (done fish < freestyle painted plate and glitter/sequins, cut out mouth and use for tail triangle-add googly eye, the sea, tractor with trailer sowing glitter rice, worms on grass and the night sky ) and think the shaking of glitter and sprinkling of rice/lentils and shiny bits was her fave bit!
Any ideas on simple things for a 20mo?
