Have just been given a large bag of beeswax....

A friend who used to own bees has just moved to a much smaller property and was having a clear out. Included in the bag of bits and bobs he thought I could make use of was a bag (6.5lbs) of solid beeswax. He suggested I could make candles from it but that looks a bit of a faff.

I'm in London - could anyone make use of it?

You can melt it with other oils/butters and make lip balms.

Hundreds of lipbalms with 6.5lbs :o

Hmmm, thanks.
That looks like it involves heating, stirring and faffing.
Crafty doings really aren't my thing.

Does anyone want this beeswax?
Can't imagine the charity shop will take it!

Try putting it on your local Freecycle/Freagle group. I"d love it (Croydon) but really need to reign myself in with "crafty" stuff.

You can polish wooden furniture with it too if you have any of that.

Its fantastic for stitchers (cross stitch or embroidery type things) you use it to smooth the thread and stop it fraying as you stitch. Offer it on freegle etc, it will go in no time. If you're close enough, I'd love some!
