Easter Egg dyeing and other UK traditions

Can anyone help me with Easter egg dyeing? I'm from Canada and despite having lived here for 11 yrs am just discovering I have no idea about Easter here. Now I've got a DS 2.5 though and would like to do some egg decorating like I did as a child but haven't seen any dye kits in the shops like they would sell at home. How would I go about egg dyeing here?

Also, what other Easter traditions or crafts or games do you do with your families?

You don't have to dye them - might be worth just letting him loose with some felt pens (wax crayons will obviously start to melt on a freshly boiled egg!).

Hi, I grew up in Scotland and we used to take a boiled egg to school, paint them with, I suppose, poster paints, then go to the hilly park next to the school and roll them til they broke. Great fun!

Apart from that, just making cards and painting eggboxes to look like chicks.

I don't remember dying my eggs. My 2 have always just used felt tips or paints. You can get little kits with stencils for easter egg decorating.

oh gosh, I'm rubbish at going back to check on threads!
Easter was a bit low key. DS was ill and I was just frazzled but we got some glue and googly eyes out to decorate eggs. The chocolate bunny went down a treat though!
Have already requested dyeing kit from Canada for next year. Now to source white eggs!

Duck eggs might be worth a go.
