Having done some Woolly hug squares, I love Debbie Bliss cashmerino dk, but all the patterns are for babies. Where can I find a pattern for a nice jumper for me using this?

Have you tried Ravelry?

Flojobunny · 17/03/2013 23:55

I wouldn't know where to start!

Go to ravelry, look up the yarn, then click 'projects'' (meaning 'projects made using this particular yarn'), then have a browse through the photos till you find something that you like. It is my favourite feature of ravelry!

Also, just to warn you - this yarn is being discontinued, so you might want to stock up....

MerryMingeWhingesAgain · 19/03/2013 19:40

It's a standard DK weight so any pattern written for DK is likely to work, just check a swatch first.

ChippingInIsEggceptional · 19/03/2013 19:46

CallMeCordelia the cashemerino DK is being discontinued? All of it? How do you know? When? Gahhhhhhhhhhhh

tribpot · 19/03/2013 19:57

For me (but I am v clumsy) the yarn is too fine and prone to snagging to use for a jumper. How about a shawl or wrap?

The lady in my local yarn shop told me! She'd just been told by the Designer Yarns rep last week. That's why Deramores are having a big sale on it at the moment.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

ChippingInIsEggceptional · 19/03/2013 22:23

... trundles over to eBay & Deramores.

ChippingInIsEggceptional · 19/03/2013 22:26

Deramores only have a few colours down to £4.13 from £5.50?

Callmecordelia · 19/03/2013 22:34

Sorry, there were quite a few when I looked the other day. I expect it will take a while for stocks to be used up.

There are always discount codes for Deramores around - RAV2013 will give you 10% off any order.

Flojobunny · 19/03/2013 23:58

They are discontinuing it? Damn, I just bought the pattern book for it. Found it at Cucumberpatch.

Flojo, this isn't too much of a problem. It is a standard DK weight, so you'll be able to substitute almost any DK yarn you like.

Callmecordelia · 20/03/2013 09:32

Off the top of my head, I'd look at Artesano superwash merino DK or Rowan pure wool, which would give the washability of the Cashmerino and still be pretty nice to work with. I also like Sublime Extra Fine Merino DK, but that is a handwash yarn.

However, stocks of the DB Cashmerino DK will take a while to use up, so you will be able to get it for a while.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 21/03/2013 07:37

You can still get cashmerino Dk on eBay in most colours, reasonably priced too.

I'm really disappointed as well, it's my favourite wool to work with. I went and had a squeeze in the wool shop the other dayWink and found the rowan pure wool had a similar soft feel and a lovely range of colours.

I have stocked up a bit though from eBay and AbitWoolly have some stock at 4.20 a ball too.
