Souffle 3d pens - any good?

I have got some plastic piggy banks for the kids to decorate at our school summer fete, but am after some advise as to what would be the easiest and most effective thing to use to get a good 3d effects. Has anyone tried the souffle pens and are they any good? Does anyone do decorating hair brushes etc - what type of pens/paints do you use to get that neat 3d effect?

Any advise will be gratefully appreciated!!

I've got Sakura 3D glave pens and they're great, on the box it shows you can use them on glass tiles jewlery and of course cardstock. I use them to colour in between peel off like butterflies etc.

I paid I think £18.oo fo 10 but you can get a pack of 5 for a lot less, have a look on Ebay but most craft shops have them.

I've also got 3D glaze by Sakura hobby craft ACMI AP, they're just OK, not as impressive, and they are pricey.

apparently the souffle pens are not all that good. reviews haven;t been that favourable. the colur "flops"

I think skribble does hairbrushes and stuff.

anitas 3d paint may be good. have used and liked.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll give the souffle pens a miss then - definitely don't want expensive floppiness!!!!! I'll try the Sakura ones as I think pens are going to be easier and quicker for the children to use rather than 3d paints. Unless, of course, anyone else knows of something even better!!

I love the glaze pens, not sure how they will look on the piggy banks, maybe by one first to have a try before you buy the whole pack.

With the Rainbows, I used to use glass markers. They're not 3d, but I did find that they were easier for them to use. Perhaps you could combine with some peel offs? I taught a card workshop ooh, must be ayear ago now at a museum back in Somerset, and the kids made lovely peel off cards, dolphins were especially popular. It meant the non-arty kids could take home something nice as well as the talented ones. I did cut the peel offs up first so they could just have one or two, otherwise they'd have swiped a sheet each (and this lot weren't paying, it was a council initiative)
