Errr, I call every piece of card I have from pre folded greetings cards to poster sized stuff 'cardstock'. It's a posh way of saying 'Card' Grin

I suspect someone in the crafting world at some point decided that it would sound good. Bit like saying 'I will take that away and deal' at office meetings which is really meant as 'haven't got a bloody clue, shit who do I ask'. God I am getting cynical >

Some scrapping papers are call cardstock because they are thicker than the normal papers....makes such as Baisc Grey, Blonde Moments,SEI, Junkitz are cardstock weight....some Chatterbox papers are cardstock and some are wallpapers...is about the thickness and the weight of the paper.

It's an American word, we just say card or paper.

It's because scrapbooking is very American.
