It's brilliant, I haven't even touch the surface of what it can do.
It's great for anyone who is basic computer literate.
I've cut all sorts of alphabet fonts in all sizes and cut up to mirror card thickness & thin glitter card.
If you can draw on screen the worlds your oyster, it can cut out any shape you draw, plus you get free templates
Only promlem I had was finding the gold & sliver pens to fit, because it draws and writes aswell as cuts, good news I found them in a little craft shop this Saturday

Just thought I'd let you know.

I've been cutting all the bits, ready to make cards but I've been decorating the bedrooms for the last two weeks and have just started card making today, daft thing is I've been making them using beads and butterflies it was a card design I pinched out of my latest mag.
Anyway now I'm back cardmaking I'll be posting cards next week.

Smile So you draw any shape on the screen or choose a font & type your words & it then cuts it out ??? Could you use clip art to get the shape ?

ooooooooo

Carolinett · 04/05/2006 19:40

Yes but it needs a black outline, so what you do is, with one of the tools you put a black outline round the clipart item, that sound complicated but it isn't. If the clipart has a dark outline it will cut it out.

Want one, want one, want one......NOW..... Grin

Carolinett · 04/05/2006 19:43

What I mean is if you had a picture of a pink flower and you wanted the robo to cut it you would put a black line round it using one of the robo tool icons

katzg · 05/05/2006 08:20

i'm saving for this but my savings were slightly dented by buying a sidekick!

Carolinett · 05/05/2006 10:00

JM
It is great for titles
Create & Craft show did a demonstration on it, if I hadn't of watched that I wouldn't have know you peel the yellow sheet of the back sheet. They did quite a bit on scrapbooking things to cut, if you get a chance watch it

The name of the pens I got to draw with is Schneider GEL IT, I think £1.30 each you'll be searching for ages because the apperture is pencil thin. I got gold, silver, bronze and metalic blue you can buy a tin of I think 7 or 8 for £7.99

What I found at the start I wasn't to sure the size of the thing I was cutting so I set it to pen, put a pencil in the opening and let the robo draw it first before I set it to cut, it's just getting use to it, I don't need to do that now.

I still haven't mastered everything I need to see someone demonstrate it so I can ask a few question.

JM you'll love it

Carolinett · 05/05/2006 17:08

You are so lucky, they charge about £50 round here to come out and demo.

I say again "You and the Girls Will Love It".

Bet you can't wait to plug it in

Have fun

How much are they?

I am sorely tempted - the titleing is one of the parts that I always feel looks a bit tatty whenever I use hand cut titles.

Would love a more professional finish:)

Carolinett · 05/05/2006 17:24

I paid £347 including Vat I know bluddy expensive but I tell myself I'm worth it.

I know someone who got it for £250 but she owned a shop.

I've come to the conclusion that the best card the Robo likes is that cheap card you get from Asda you can get packs of white & packs of coloured.

I buy them packs to do my own backing paper (well not paper it's card). I do my own gingham & matching plain and others through Word.

Ummm thought about doing backing papers, but decided that it's cheaper to buy them after ink etc.

UCM · 06/05/2006 18:55
