Knitting with chunky two-tone wool

I ordered some chunky wool (Sirdar Escape) which is two tone. I planned to knit a cowl, my first big project, with it. However the pattern is moss stitch and obviously a bit slow and dull to knit. I don't think I'm going to see the pattern of the stitching so wondering whether to bother carrying on? I've done two rounds so far. What sort of stitch pattern works well with a self patterning yarn?

Have you had a look on Ravelry? I got a lovely cowl pattern off there for the MIL for Christmas and it only took me an hour or so on size 10 needles!
Don't know about self patterning yarn........sorry!

The pattern is from Ravelry (gap-tastic cowl) but seems to be mostly knitted in self colours! I have noticed that you can search by yarn so I will do a search. I'm carrying on with the original pattern for now as its actually quite easy knitting. Thank you Smile
