Dd will be Little Red Hen in her school play and we need to make a costume. Any tips for an artistically challenged mother? TIA

Get some red fluffy feathers from craft shop & put on head/wings/tail to look more bird like. You could make a red comb (is that the right word? The thing on their head) out of red felt but technically that's a rooster....but felt or foam are good & easy to work with.

Could you make a tutu skirt? This one is near the right colours for The Little Red Hen then just wear red tights, a brown t-shirt and maybe make a 'comb' to go on her head.

Ps tutu skirts are so easy to make and don't need ANY sewing and there are loads of tutorials on the Internet.

Hope you get sorted.

A onsie in the appropriate colour.

Material wings sown between the sleeves and the body.

Paper / card beak added to the hood (if no hood then make a hat)
