So what can I do apart from sulk..pmsl
Am very pleased with my layout I did though considering it was my first time. Got a ton of ideas floating around my head now but no way of being able to afford to do themSad

Sorry to be dim, but what is scrapbooking?

Nemo1977 · 27/04/2006 23:16

It is putting your photos on backings etc with wording, typing and various designs and embellishments. OR thats what it seemed to be..pmsl I could be wrong as it was my first time!

Sounds like a good idea. Our photos are languishing in a box at the back of a cupboard. Never seem to find/make the time to do anything ordered with them. Blush

Dingle · 27/04/2006 23:21

Welcome to the top of a very big, very slippery, and very expensive slope!Wink

Sketch out the ideas you have for the time being and hunt around for bargain. Just shout and I am sure there will be plenty of help and advice here!!

Nemo1977 · 27/04/2006 23:21

bubble me neither or they sit on the computer hard drive so wanted to do something with them. Heard about scrapbooking then the lady who runs our toddler group which is also very crafty said she was doing an evening class..it was great

Nemo - if there are any particular items you want cut, then post here and I'm sure someone will do them for you - I'm certainly more than happy to if it is a die I have:)

Email me your address at joycemgrant at yahoo dot co dot uk and I'll RAK you a goody bag:)

Nemo1977 · 27/04/2006 23:25

dingle have already been on the slippery slope with glass painting, jewellery making, card making but never had to buy the big bits as yet.

Dingle · 27/04/2006 23:30

Oh Nemo....don't worry about all the big stuff yet, get your basics. You'kl probably find you already have a lot of goodies in your card making you can use. Even beads, wires from your jewellery making - you can make some fab, unique embellishments.

Like soapy says, just shout if there is a die you are after, I think we have the majority of them between us anyway!WinkGrinI'd be more than happy to cut some for you.

JayzMummy · 27/04/2006 23:31

bubble....this is \link{http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a30/ellsese/?action=view¤t=819a2794.jpg\a scrapbook page I made of my DS1}

JayzMummy · 27/04/2006 23:35

blomming link worked when I previewede but now takes you to a very messy album!! i must get in there and have a tidy up....anyway there are a few piccies of some of my LO's there.

Nemo....have you had a look at UKS?
There are some fab LO's to be seen and there are class instructions available to follow...just shout if you get lost over there and someone will guide you in the right direction.

Nemo1977 · 28/04/2006 00:02

thanks all...will probably be asking very soon..The only bonus is I took my MIL with me as she has been wanting to make a scrapbook for years. She loved it to and was saying about everything she will be buying so can pinch her bits too!! Now why is it I go to this class when I have ages till my birthday or xmas..pmsl

Nemo- you could get a Sizzix machine or a tagalong. They don't cut all the same dies as the Big Shot but they do cut most of them (sizzix anyway). I love the tagalong and the little sizzlets and the sizzlet alphas.

We have a swap for dies organised by Dingle who holds the list. If you don't have the diecutter to swap with then most people would swap with other scrapping bits. A lot of scrapping sites have offers/ clearance sections/free p and p. As Jm says if you have a look at UKScrappers you'll see a section 'and now a word from our sponsors' where the sponsors advertise their special offers. JM also has a site that sells scrapping stuff-littlecotagecrafts. Not used it myself but loads of others have

hi all
thanks for the replies. I have just subscribed to couple of mags and already spent loads on bits via ebay and one of my catalogues sold some bits...oops..pmsl Dh has bought me a scrap album too which comes with some papers so just waiting for it all to arrive. Have been going camera mad with things I can make pages out of...Looking at the sizzix and will discuss with mil tommorow. Also looked at the quickutz..is it any good?

Ive gone back to my cross stitch for the next few weeks as DH has put a ban on me buying anymore stash and i cant cope with all the goodies on the net and not be able to have them!!!!

Try jayzmummys website, she has items that other shops dont have and she has a free p and p offer on as well Smile

Nemo1977 · 30/04/2006 12:05
