A silly knitting question...

DD wants me to knit a blanket for her cuddly monkeys.......

It needs to be about 60 cm wide...... Length is not a problem because I shall just knit until it looks long enough!

How many stitches do you reckon I might need for that?

I think it equates to 24 inches which would be 4 blanket squares and I think I cast on about 33 stitches for those in DK and 4mm needles so I'm thinking about 132 stitches? Does that sound right?

DD is an exacting task master but also has delusions when it comes to my knitting talents - especially speed! I think she's expecting it to be finished when she wakes up tomorrow!!!!

It does sound about right, and you could always knit a narrower vertical border for each side if it turns out not to be wide enough

Thank you Gleaming.

I need to do a few rows tonight. She's chosen some of my multi coloured wool as 'monkeys like colours mummy'
