Fimo experts, walk this way please...

I've just bought a large biscuit assortment tin full of Fimo from my favourite charity warehouse. A bargain at about £1.50!

Now, the clay I am familiar with but there are some packets of what look like coloured sugar. Any suggestions as to what they are?

Oh drat, I forget the actual name of the stuff it sounds like it could be but its basically acrylic/plastic beads that you melt in the oven - you usually get bags of colours in kits that have a metal "stained glass" frame to fill & melt into a fake stained glass.

I used to use this stuff with fimo to make stained glass jewellery & coloured sugar would describe it well - could this be it ??

The bargain Fimo will go well with my less than £5 pasta maker :o

Could I ask you do you use your normal oven to bake the Fimo? If so, for how long do you need to air it before you can use it for cooking again or do you do something else before using it for cooking again? Thanks.

I've never aired it. I don't recall there ever being any fumes TBH. Other than the time I forgot and burnt the fimo but that was only once and a long long time ago!!

Great, dd got some fimo at her birthday so now when can start using it ...

I reckon just leaving the door open for a bit would air it sufficiently if you're worried.
