Head sizes?

Hello having some request for knitted headbands , how can I get the correct sizes for babies head without inconvinecing people to measure their baby ?

Does your child's Red Book have a head chart in it? I can't remember off hand but that would give you an average size to work with if you know the age of the baby.

That's jus what I though I will go check thank you , if not I was thinking a hat pattern but do hats fit differently to headbands ? Think it would be too loose...
