Easy crafts for young children- need inspiration please!

I love to make things but have the skills of a five year old myself!
DS1 is 3 and also loves to make things.
Does anyone have any ideas for really simple crafts( for me and him!)?
Any suggestions much appreciated, thanks

Sock puppets are good just use fabric glue to stick things on.

Painting hard boilled eggs- we turned ours into pirates and made little hats.

Salt dough apparently can now be cooked in a microwave im yet to try this.

Collage-y type things. My DS used to love just hacking through a pile of old magazines and sticking hte bits down to make scrap book/pictures. Also using bits of old fabric/ribbon/wool/tissue paper/sequins/pasta etc to amke pictures.
Stickers

Not really craft - but hand/feet printing (best out doors )
Printing with sponges/potatoes etc
Rubbings - coins/tree bark/shoe soles etc

Anything made out of papier mache.

To make a pig - blow up a baloon and papier mache all over it - several layers. Then papier mache four cups from an egg carton where the feed should be, one where the nose should be and two where the ears should be. Leave several days unil rock hard.
Then you can paint it pink, and add some sticky on eyes, and a pink pipe cleaner tail.

Milk bottle elephant - I used post-it notes for ears and got tissue paper, toy eyes and stickers from wilkinsons rather than painting it.

We've also got DS (3) a chalk board - not exactly craft but he loves drawing on it with coloured chalks.

this is a good site. I did some 'freeform mosaics' with DDs (2&4) the other day. It was fun but a bit of a 'process before product' experience!

Glue and cotton wool to make snowman pictures - buttons for decoration.

Margarine tub or similar & Blu tack or plasticine - stick straw in it and add a sail to make a boat - sail can be decorated as can boat.

Make a bat for example out of a toilet roll tube painted black with black cardboard wings stuck on and newspaper head covered in black tissue paper - google eyes to decorate.

I've been doing sewing with my 3 year old. Embroidery hoop, bright fabric and bright embroidery threads. We use a medium sized tapestry needle so quite blunt. I cast on/unpick the last few stitches to cast off. It's freestyle but now (nearly 4) she is starting to be able to put beads on with much smaller stitches.

Now to teach her to make her OWN pompoms so I can do my hobbies along-side.
