Nice, snugly crochet yarn

I would like to make a granny square blanket for DD's soon to be decorated room. I've been buying Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK for the blanket projects and it is gorgeous. Is there anything similar but a bit cheaper as I need lots of it?!

These are her new curtains so I'm looking for green, blue, cream and pink to match in a nice snuggly yarn.

I'm using StyleCraft special DK at the moment. Snugly, cheap & washable.

Stylecraft special Dk is very nice.

I do prefer the Debbie Bliss yarns but can't afford it for all the projects I want to do so I use the stylecraft and it really is very nice and very cheap!

Thanks for your help. I am going to look at the Stylecraft in the shop but I'm also wondering about just ignoring the rule about buying the same dye lot and buying Debbie Bliss as I go along.

I don't think dye lot matters much unless you're doing a big block of colour where you'd easily see a join

I crocheted a throw for each of my DDs for Christmas presents and found that it is well worth balancing out the cachmerino type yarn with something lighter and acrylic like the stylecraft because otherwise it becomes a little too weighty and unmanageable. I used quite a lot of cottons which was a mistake as it is also a bit too heavy. One DD also has an intolerance to wool (even cachmerino) which is worth considering (even if your DD doesn't worth bearing in mind if she has a friend to sleep over.)

I do love those curtains, would have got those for DD if she didn't have 2 enormous windows in her room.

We just have a normal size window so they weren't too bad. Two large windows would have been a case of dusting off the sewing machine and buying the fabric I think! Don't think I could manage a blanket and a pair or curtains!
