How do you store all your crafty stuff ? I have a big tangle of cotton reels, a suitcase of wool, a suitcase of old Cristmas and birthday cards, little jam jars for sequins. I still feel muddled though. Any bright ideas ?? Xmas Smile

Um.. . sounds familiar!

I just saw someone post on FB the other day that they'd bought an old fifties kitchen cabinet off ebay for this very purpose - you know the kind that has a cupboard with a fold down door, a glazed cupboard above and drawers underneath. I thought that was a genius idea.

I have a table with a drawer in it that sits by 'my' place on the sofa for whatever I'm currently working on and several stuffed to overflowing large lidded plastic tubs stashed in my wardrobe (far from ideal).

I've just seen this via Craftgawker. You wouldn't be able to use any of the yarn for fear of messing up the display!

I have the ikea 'antonius' storage system with the wire baskets and compartmentalised inserts.... its great!

I have two, one on top of the other with ten baskets/drawers in it.

I have an ikea unit, the four square hole Expedit one. This mainly has my stash of yarn and fabric in it plus patterns and books, and also spare knitting needles. I have the fabric baskets in it so they don't catch on stuff. I also have two work baskets, one with just the basic sewing equipment in it and one with extra scissors, pinking shears etc. I also (yikes - lots of also haves!) have a craft bag and knitting bag (or two!)so that I can take whatever I'm working on out with me. I have an embarrassing (I think) amount of equipment but I think I'm not too bad at keeping my stash of materials under control. Least said about stock of craft magazines the better! But the unit, the work boxes and the bags are it.

Thanku for your replys, it doesn't help that I am a messy worker, get lots of things out and don't put them back. I am lucky that I have the spare bedroom (small) as a "craft room", but just need to get things sorted in a way that works. I will have a look at the ikea systems. Though I can't see my other hald taking me there this side of Christmas !
