Christmas tree decorations as a Wedding gift ?

Have posted in Christmas section but wondered if anyone with arts and crafts thoughts could help too?

We are off to a wedding on Saturday and in a moment of what I hope is inspiration - I want to do something thoughtful and personal.. I wondered whether I could get a really nice box and fill it with a selection of decent christmas tree decorations ?

A quick google tells me I can buy Mr & Mrs ones and have them personalised, however, these are ridiculously pricey (imo) and I doubt I'd get them in time. But, I'm not without a bit of artistic skill and wondered whether I could paint on some glass baubles or terracotta ones ? Or even see if I could get some silver discs ? and get something engraved ?

I did even think I could write a tag saying to be added to on your anniversary ? But that's probably going a bit far! Perhaps something like a box for you to add to over the many happy years of marriage we hope you have ?

Have I lost the plot or would you think this was a thoughtful personal wedding gift ? Any ideas on my artistic thoughts ?

I would love it, but I am Christmas-obsessed.

I would think that was a lovely present, a nice sturdy box with some lovely decorations in, something engraved, some with the year on, you can get some lovely beaded ones locally for around £5.

As you say, a nice starter collection and a box to add more in.

I think it is a lovely present.

I buy decorations every year with the year on, so that DD can have them when she is older for her own tree.
