where can I buy cheap glitter?

Got roped in to making reindeer dust to sell to parents at my child's nursery. Could anyone recommend where the cheapest place to buy it? Last year I struggled to find it cheaply anywhere.

£1 shops usually have some in or they have 'make your own Xmas card' kits that have glitter in them.

I found some really really cheap glitter in my local town's annual christmas tack pop up shop.

Thanks. My friend said she has tried the local pound shops and they don't have any, only the glitter glue stuff. I remember trying everywhere last year and ended up having to buy it in little vial's (sp) in tesco and it worked out quite expensive. I need quite a bit of glitter, enough for about 70/90 reindeer dust bags.

How much do you want to spend? There's a website called Baker Ross who do jumbo pots of glitter. Sorry I can't link on phone. 2x100g pots for £4.95 or 6x100g for £13.50

Yellow moon is like Baker Ross, but a % goes to a charity that is registered... for example the nursery may be registered. Our Brownie/Guides are and we get a little bit back to spend on craft, which is welcomed greatly.

mixed set of glitter shakers 6 coloured shakers @ 15g per shaker.

mega shaker by only 13g of each colour.

jumbo shakers 100g of gold or silver.

I can recommend adding in some sequins to add a but of bulk. You don't need much. sequins

This is an ebay search for glitter 100g the ultrafine really is fine.

I also recommend ziploc baggies of this size for reindeer food... ziploc they are small but really, you don't want big bags.

use a small funnel [or make one out of paper] as it'll make pouring in easier and less messy.

I also prepared tags from old christmas cards, cut with deckle edge scissors, they had a little poem on about reindeer food, found it free online years ago.

Pitching in late, but if anyone is making Reindeer food can I make a plea to use coloured sugar instead of glitter? It dissolves away to nothing which adds to the magical effect as well as avoiding plastic/metal lingering for months. Food colouring and normal granulated sugar, shaken well in a jar.

ecolady that's a good tip, thank you! I forgot about colouring sugar. I also heard about dyeing salt and baking it to make it glittery.

Think i've seen pots of glitter in the Works before, not entirely sure how cheap they were but i wouldnt think too dear.

I think a little glitter goes a long way when mixed in with things so don't worry about only using a little bit.
