help with how much wool to buy please!

someone on here linked to this pattern for a knitted dress.

I am a beginner, but thought i would try to tackle it! It doesnt say how much wool to buy though, and I thought I would get a self striped wool instead of changing colours myself, would this give a good effect do you think?

Self striping would work I think. I am pretty sure that 100g of dk would be plenty for this, but it depends which yarn you get - some has a lot more metres per 50g than others.

If you are on Ravelry you can see other dresses people have made from this pattern here and some have mentioned how much yarn they used. HTH
