I normally make a lot of fuzz when I like something or if I see some "potential" (though never make clear if I making the fuzz because I like it or because I might like it if it's developed to my standards Wink. I never lie, if I don't say anything it just means that I hate it...

HAving said that, I have not seen many examples of what some Mumsneters do :)

UCM · 26/03/2006 02:14

I had a teacher who gave me the best piece of advice when I was 13yrs old, he asked me to look at my work as if it had been done by my worst enemy. It certainly help me to be objective and definitively improved the quality of my work.

i think that people put stuff up to be admired; they are pleased with it themselves and just want (maybe sub-consciously) some affirmation of their thoughts.

however, if you really want help/criticism i am sure there are many on here who would, and do, give it. i know i have sent pics to other MNers and asked for criticism in the form of "Something is missing here, but i don't know what. what do you think?" and they have always been really helpful, i suppose 'critical', but in a positive, useful way.

if you really are needing criticism then ask for it and i am sure you will get some constructive comments.

there are some cards that are not my style, not my prefernce; that doesn't mean they aren't technically good, they just don't push my buttons.

i like Chandra's teacher's words though. Smile

If I like someones card I let them know and I'm honest.
If don't like it I don't put a comment on MNs.
If I was asked for constructive critism I would give it willingly.
I put my cards up on the gallery to give others ideas and I look on the gallery to pinch some ideas as UCM knows I'm the biggest pincher of hers

Dior · 27/03/2006 18:53

I only comment on the cards that I like.

PeachyClair · 27/03/2006 19:49

Criticism is for families, praise is for friends.

My sis, for example, won't buy my cards coz 'I am not wasting my money stuff that doesn't look professional' (but she gave a mate three quid for an anitas blank with two squares mulberry and a bought topper!!!!!! But anyway)

Twiglett · 27/03/2006 19:53

I'm good at critiquing if anyone wants some constructive criticism Grin .. but only ask me if you really really want to know what I think on a commercial level

Senoracod · 27/03/2006 19:53

ill sat it
its crap

there

stitch · 27/03/2006 20:48

no, coz, its not in the spirit of friendliness. unless its a joke.
if constructive critiscism is aske froo then of course it is given. arent we all experts? about everything?
