how do we make our own easter bonnet???

I'm so glad someone has started this thread! I have just realised that DS1 and DS2's easter hat parade is in about 10 days' time.

They are 4 and 6 and will reject anything too "girly", and I think they will condemn the lovely ones on the Hobbycraft site as girly. Can anyone suggest something that they might be prepared to wear?

I'm planning on getting dd (3.9) to paint the bottom of a paper plate yellow, and then stick scrunched-up tissue paper all over it. Then I'll stick/tape/staple a bit of ribbon on either side to tie it on to her head. I'll be watching to see what better ideas come up!
