OK, so how do I go about making a card then?

Um...thats about it, really. I have 3 friends/family members who have new babies, I have felt deeply uninspired by the stuff in the shops, also I am very skint so the only way I can do anything fancy is to make it myself.

Quite fancy something like origami (like maybe an origami crib or something...)...can't actually do origami though, which may be a hindrance.

But actually don't really know anything. I remember making a daffodil card at school but since then...

Any websites, pointers etc...?

I make little knitted bootees...can you knit!!

Dingle · 23/03/2006 17:47

I would be happy to make you up a few kits for a minimal price.

Oooh, I can indeed knit. (though ta, Dingle Grin). So i suppose maybe fingering weight wool (accidentally Blush bought quite a lot of skeins of angora 2 ply in white, some time ago).

I suppose, cos its a card, I could do something fancy with beads on the bootees though, too...

How would I go about affixing the bootees to the card though?

Do I basically get a bit of card, fold it, glue on the bootees and write something nice in a nice pen? Or is there more to it? (sorry if this is dim-for some reason I've always seen cardmaking as difficult)

Lots more if you Google Smile

Warning - it's addictive!

I only have a pic of the basic bootee card but you can also add other little embellishments on too.

I tend to use a fine crochet cotton.

Have a look in the dinglescard album and scan down
