Cheap Christmas Fabric

I'm looking to make some Christmas bunting, but being a novice don't want to spend a lot in case I make a mess. Been having a browse around but can't find anything that is nice but cheap. Kids will be helping so fabric that is quirky and fun would be good. Anyone got any ideas? TIA Grin

Well you don't need a lot of printed christmas themed stuff..just maybe a little of that and the rest in Christmassy colours. but plain, stripes, dots, checks....

You can do red and green with white....but if you want more modern you could do Teal and white with red.

How about these here this shop has a TERRIBLE website and is famous on MN for just that reason...oh and it's very cheap too! Grin

Check if you can buy half metres too...lots of shops allow that.

Thanks NCForNow had a look at that website, but didn't think mixing & matching the patterned & plain fabric. Will have another browse!

Yes...looks good if you have a variation....stick to similar colours or just go mad! I like creams and reds with a bit of teal...or proper traditional will holly, gold bits and reindeers!

Dunelm Mill have some Christmas fabric in varying degrees of niceness!

Lady Sew and Sew have lots of patchwork sets and fat quarter bundles that might be good. You get several different fabrics that way that will all fit together.

Christ I cannot go on fabricland long enough to appreciate the cheap fabrics, my eyes bleed. I think ikea had some Christmas fabric last year, and you could always chop up charity shop flannel shirts in reds and greens to get a log cabin Christmas vibe...

Generally though Christmas stuff is expensive I find Sad

Jeepers it is though Coldcomfort...fabric land may be eye bleedy but it's darn cheap! THey had a lovely pure cotton with stars all over it the other day...gorgeous!

coldcomfortHeart · 11/09/2012 20:02

Right I may have to just put some sunglasses on and brave it!

Theenormouscrocodile · 11/09/2012 22:15

Thanks everyone. It is expensive, I just thought I hadn't unearthed the great cheap stuff. Some good ideas here though so will try out & have some fun Grin
