I am trying to make the decision as to whether or not I should be buying a die cutting machine ... and the advice is great - with lots of pros and cons .... but there is one slight problem ....

I have no idea what all the different products are - and what they are best for ...

  • Sizzix machine
  • Tag-along
  • converter
  • Sizlits
  • quikcutz
  • SIdekick
  • Wizard ......

Sorry - but HELP !!

Any advice

( I have just about established that there is a difference with Big shot and a sizzix something Blush )

Right, I'm a mere novice (with a Sizzix) myself - but heres what I think.

Sizzix - big & heavy & robust.With a converter, the Sizzix can cut Sizzlits & emboss using embossing folders
Sidekick - smaller version of Sizzix for thin dies (Sizzlits). With an adapter you can cut other types of thin die (eg Quickcutz)

Big Shot - is the new one that cuts bigger dies
Tag a long - smaller version of BS

Quickcuts - more like a hand held punch

Any help ? I dithered for ages before buying my Sizzix Grin

Red / yellow / green are the die sizes for the Sizzix

Red = big
Yellow = medium
Green = small

Tag a long is like a new sidekick, a smaller model which only does sidekick dies. I am not sure what dies 'tag a long' does but guess it could be quite limited.

I went for a sizzix because I can cut most other dies with it. I don't craft enough to justify anything more expensive like the big shot.

Carolinett · 15/03/2006 13:49

I think the Sidekick and the Tag a long look to me to be the same thing, sorry I haven't got one so someone with one might be able to answer better

Have a look at \link{http://www.scrapbooksupercenter.com/ed22386.html\this}
