does it get on anyone else's nerves that the letters aren't the right sizes?
or is it just me?

Just you AQ!
I love that alpha, next on my list once I've got some cash!

auntyquated · 11/03/2006 20:10

So tell us Aq....what are you making with your alphabets????

Yorkiegirl · 11/03/2006 20:43

maybe it is, but isnt that the charm of GAW?
If you need to get rid of it send it my way Grin

No AQ I find it really really annoying and sometimes when I do a card, it just doesn't look right. Also hate the sticking on of the smaller letters, am now just using the smaller. Thank God it's not just me.

UCM · 11/03/2006 22:01

Everyone raved about it, and I find it horrible. I have funky brush which is huge and not very good for smaller cards (not very childlike/funky either) So I want another one. NOW. Stamps foot like DS age 2.

auntyquated · 11/03/2006 22:20

i made a b/day card this morning for Caitlin so the t and l were side by side, it is wrong that the t is taller than the l. grumble mutter whinge.

now i ahve a card to make for a 100th b/day! do you think 100 year olds are like children? would she like her name on it???

thats what put me off getting it. it's nice and quirky but not something i'd want to use all the time.

UCM · 11/03/2006 23:06

I am quite happy to do a 'funky brush name for you, but if it's henrietta it needs to be an A4 card. OOOOOOO reminds me....

I ordered these two from Kim last week I paid £92 including P&P for the two. These\link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8264220989&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT\two}
I asked her to send them without the box, she charge $11.00 for posting both.
They should be here next week, I try them out put them on a few cards and post them so you can see before you buy your next alphas what there like.

Pixiefish · 12/03/2006 11:36

i have oplayground which is lush. its great for kids cards too.

i also have boxed brush and love it.

next on my list is big top

Whizzz · 12/03/2006 11:44

I bought GAW after much deliberation. Originally wanted the Lollipop set as they were more uniform - but possibly would have been too big to use for longer names / words.

Some words do look funny & a bit squint - I find they look better if you actually use them at odd angles.
Think I would like another set too though ! Grin

Whizzz · 12/03/2006 11:48

Carolinett - Wet Paint looks nice - Maybe difficult to stick as the letters are so thin!??
£92 for 2 is a great price shipped from the US !!

My GAW was $59 but a mate brought it back for me Wink

pootlepod · 12/03/2006 11:48

I would also suggest not putting them straight but that's because generally if I try to put things straight it looks worse than if I deliberatly mess things up IYSWIM! I am the Tracey Emin style of card maker!

Carolinett · 12/03/2006 12:03

Now what you mean about wetpaint I thought I would use foam for the letters and first stick the whole sheet of foam on an A4 sheet of double sided paper, when I cut the letter just peel off the backing paper. Guess you'd only get one chance to stick. Other than that foam again but use a fine nozzled tacky glue.

Carolinett · 12/03/2006 12:07

should have said doubled sided sticky paper
