I am thinking of getting a sizzix big shot for cutting shapes from felt.

Tell me anything you can please?

Where to buy the dies?
How much are they?
Do they last well?

Thank you! :)

Mine is second hand off eBay and so are my dies, they cut really well. I have a variety of red/green/blue/yellow and purple dies but the sizzlits are rubbish for felt cutting as they are quite thin, designed to be used in the sidekick mainly, but with a converter run well in the big shot.

In fact my big shot is an ellison one [blue] same company different label. I have a sidekick too, which I've had five years, but the big shot I bought 18 months ago £35 plus a dozen dies and new cutting plates.

Ellison dies also work well too.

I punch mainly paper/card but also fabric and felt for applique.

I've never had a die break or go blunt. Initially bought for doing my wedding invitiations 5 years ago and it goes to brownie/guide craft days about 10 times a year. MiL and Mum borrow it to go to their craft afternoons. In fact most of my friends have used it for their wedding invites too. It has seen lots of abuse.

if you want new try cutting edge crafts who have brill service and I've bought the odd die off them over the years]

That's all great kelle! Thank you!

It's an eBay job I'm looking at - a blue one so prob same as yours. I'd like to use it for felt so need fairly sturdy dies. Glad yours has taken abuse and survived unscathed. :)

There's a few days left on the eBay one so think I'll watch and wait...

Thanks for that! :)
Think I'm getting itchy fingers for eBay bidding!
