Any tips on making a tree out of sticks?

This sounds a bit lame, but you know the sort - a bunch of beautifully arranged sticks/smaller branches with nice twigs attached which are painted white and put in a vase. I'm planning to use it as a prayer tree at my DD's baptism in a few weeks and wondered if anyone had made one and could give me any tips.

Are you on Pinterest ?? - if so I've seen tutorials & photos on there before that would probably be of help, but I've not pinned them myself, so I'm sorry I don't have any to share here, but feel free to shout if you want an invite

I've just spotted this HERE which sound like its probably the sort of thing you mean

It will work as a link if you are on Pinterest, but not otherwise - sorry

thanks- thats exactly what I'm wanting to make
Just wondering if I can just spray the sticks white or if I need to papermache them (not sure I have time for that!)

No need, just spraying them will work fine, though maybe use gardening tape to attach any together first & then spray the whole thing - those spray paints favoured by graffiti artists have good coverage work well for this sort of thing - maybe topped with some spray glue & a sprinkling of white glitter too :)
