Some cheap sizzix and sizzlit alphas on ebay

.... due to the sale in the states, some people are buying them for next to nothing and selling them on ebay. Still means they're cheaper than we'd be paying normally though. (mind you it makes me sick when i realise how little they're going for stateside)

...Walk away from the PC

No one warned me this would be so addictive - I have a serious Sizzix addiction

I have to make 2 wedding cards & I haven't got any dies for that

JayzMummy · 23/02/2006 21:35

Whizz I have wedding dies....Big Shot wedding dies Give me a shout if you need any cutting

Whizzz · 23/02/2006 21:49

oooo Big Shot dies

I'm going to try & do a simple design using lettering. I have a few ideas in my head - just have to see what they turn out on paper !
I have a minimalist chic idea - although may end up like a dogs dinner

kiwibella · 28/02/2006 16:11

help me out please :) Do I bid on the items she has listed or do I contact the seller?

kiwibella · 28/02/2006 20:32

anyone who has purchased through this seller? Do I place a bid?

hullabaloo · 28/02/2006 21:03

I wondered about that too Kiwi! What are you hoping to buy?

Lulabell · 01/03/2006 17:47

This may be a silly question, but when mentioning JayzMummy do I call her JayzMummy or do I need her RL alter ego? Also, I've not really posted on cardmaking before, have been a knitter so is it cheeky to use her connection?
That said, I must NOT buy a sizzix machine! (How long do you think I can hold out?) Grin I've only made 2 cards so far!

Whizzz · 01/03/2006 18:03

I'm not sure as I haven't used this seller.

Sizzix is very addictive tho be warned.....you always need just one more die Grin

JayzMummy · 01/03/2006 18:08

Contact the seller direct through the contact this seller option.
DONT BID on anything.
Tell her what dies you are looking for and she will get back to you.
If she has the dies in stock she will put them in her shop as a buy it now option....so you know exactly what you are paying.
Postage is good....she will put two alphabet sets in an envelope for $11.
If you contact her just mention JayzmummySmile

Pixiefish · 01/03/2006 18:43

Is that 11 dollars or eleven pounds? i only ask as she quoted me 28 dollars. The alpha that i won was also cheaper than she's quoted me. She is actually cheaper than the buy it now's BUT some of the auctions end up cheaper

JayzMummy · 01/03/2006 23:22

$11 dollars for postage of 2 alphabets....I expect she has charged you more for postage because you paid less in an auction. She quoted YG $11 dollars for two sets and I know YG and Dingle paid $11 when they bought the PT charms alphabets. I only pay $11 too.....guess you win some....then loose some???

soapbox · 01/03/2006 23:35

Pixiefish - I think it depends on whether the alphabet is an alphabar or a sizzlet alphabet. She charged me $11 for 2 alphabars but quoted me a lot more for a sizzlit alphabet because they are much heavier.

In the end the sizzlit alphabet was cheaper to buy in the UK than pay the postage costs, but hte alphabars were definitely cheaper.

Pixiefish · 02/03/2006 08:52

she quoted $75.00 plus $28.00 shipping for a sizzlit alpha. It wasn't in an auction JM- I asked her for a price and that's what she quoted me.

JayzMummy · 02/03/2006 09:18

I guess the problem is that sizzlit apha's dont fit in the flat rate parcels and thats why she cant charge you less for postage.
If you didnt want it in the cassette storage box then maybe she could fit them in a flat rate and therefore postage would be $11??? Who knows????

Pixiefish · 02/03/2006 12:52

I may well order the next alpha off her as she's still ceaper than beaniebuddy but dearer than the one I won at auction BUT there are no guarantees that I'll be so lucky at auction again so I'm going to order the alpha as soon as the council pay me for my site Grin

I do know of one other sizzix supplier that offers discounted prices and sometimes has no shipping cost at all....will find details out and post them here.

Pixiefish · 02/03/2006 16:03

mmmmm... you are good JM. Looking forward to getting this money for my web site so i can spend spend spend - lol

JayzMummy · 02/03/2006 16:21

Did you get funding for your site then PF?
There are great oppurtunitys out there for small businesses arent theer Wink

Pixiefish · 02/03/2006 18:10

Nah, it was a cloth nappy promotion site- see this link \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1800&threadid=150857&stamp=060301185153\here} that I set up to pressurise the local council to do something about the use of cloth nappies here

I haven't really set up a business as such JM. I use dh's shop front to promote the site and cards and I also sell some cards through his shop.
I make cards for friends and have sold some in other places but while dd is small and her eczema the way it is I have to concentrate on her rather than the cards.
What I do sell only funds me buying more stash. When I can I do some supply teaching and will go back to that when dd/ and /or any future siblings are older.
I do fancy doing some card evenings and I'd donate a percentage to the Eczema society but it's really hard sorting dd out in the evening as she won't settle for anyone other than me and she wakes often with the eczema

I use this lady, she's one of my ebay favourites if you're in no rush, although her stuff does come through quickish, she charged me $6.50 P&P for a sizzix alaphabet because I told her I didn't need the case, if you need the case it's $28.00.

Pixiefish · 03/03/2006 14:46

How do you store it then Carolinette?

OP posts:
Carolinett · 03/03/2006 19:35

Nothing fancy, I bought a plastic oblong box with a lid on it for £1.99 from a discount shop I store all my sizzlits in them.
