Toddler super hero costume

Help!

I was wondering if anyone in the Mumsnetosphere has any ideas for a toddler super hero costume? Nursery sent a form home yesterday for a sponsored toddle on Saturday dressed as a superhero. DS is 22 months and has no superhero affiliations so the field is wide open in terms of character but there are some extenuating circumstances - 1) it has to be cheap, 2) it has to be quick 3) I'm not all that with a sewing machine, I have one (my mums old one) but have no real idea how to use it.

Any ideas?

Piece of felt - cut out mask (sort of eight shape)and large child's initial. Make holes in each side of mask and thread elastic or contrast colour ribbon through. Piece of cotton, polyester fleece, anything really contrast colour to felt. Cut a rectangle the length from child's shoulders to flour, double the width of their shoulders Fold over ten cm at top and sew all the way along, by hand or machine. Thread elastic or ribbon through and gather up. Fold over 3-4 cm at bottom and see along as hem. Sew initial onto cloak. Wear with appropriate colour t shirt and leggings, perhaps with contrast colour socks over leggings for "boots". could do another felt initial on t shirt. They are then "super whatever their name is". That's what I'd do anyway. Or buy a costume....
