Does anyone have this sewing machine?

Am debating between this and the Elna Explore 340, they both seem to have same spec, just Elna is £30 more

I have a lower spec Janome.
One thing I appreciate about it is the ease of sourcing spare parts. Look into the costs of things like needles & alternative feet.

the key thing for me is 1 step button hole and that it takes any thickness of fabric, which lower specs don't.

I have this! My Mum bought it for me about 4 years ago. I don't do anything too difficult, but it's been great for the projects I do do. I tend to make trousers and shorts for the kids, cushion covers, mending things like DP's trousers. I could never use the button hole function on my mum's machine, but it's really simple on this model.

The lady at John Lewis actually reccomended this one over the Elna as she said we might as well save ourselves the £30 - my Mum was leaning towards the Elna because of their reputation (but she hadn't bought a machine for 20 years).

I have found the instruction manual great and easy to understand.

thanks so much, so there is no difference then in the spec between this and the elna one I'm looking at?

have you used it on thick fabrics at all?
