Tonight I started the malevolent swan

I bought a very cheap Ballroom dress from eBay

I removed it's underskirt some months ago and tore off & threw away it's top

Now I am staring the skirt; which is very pretty pleated (possibly satin or shiny Georgette) with swansdown (or some such feather at the bottom)

I have cut out a white lycra mini dress which I am about to make & I intend to joing the skirt to the bottom of it

Will it work? Who knows!!!

Now I have to gather (or pleat) 180 inches of skirt onto a waistband; Thats 15 FOOT

That's 45 inches of skirt per 7 inches of waist band - I don't think it can be done

Certainly sounds like a challenge. Is anyone helping, at least so you don't drown under it all?

DD is dancing a Jubilee Waltz in Aylsham Church next Saturday & she has requested a red/white & blue dress

I am making a white dress & adding red & blue bits - but the pleats keep moving

I need the flares

These bloody pleats - well they will be bloody the amount of times I pricked my fingers

2 panels done - my mum is a genius

The entire thing is pinned

Now I have to sew it

& it's sewn & looks OK (ish)

Now I just need to do the blue & white bits

Or even blue & red bits [slaps head]
