Sorry I don't have a tutorial per se, but if you are thinking of a basic shirred band type dress, you know, straight edge, shirred band at the top, with added straps & then fuller below the shirring -

then you need to cut your cloth a a couple of cms less than twice as wide as you want it to finish, plus seam allowance & length plus hem allowances - this can be done in 1 peice, so 1 seam only is needed

Hem the top, then set your machine for shirring - I have that written up somewhere if you need instructions ?? - then shirr across the top of the cloth at 1cm from the top edge & then 1cm apart for each row - the number of rows will depend on whether you want a smock dress, or a waisted dress. - measure you DD to below bust or waist depending on what you ned & work it out from there

Close the seam - hem the bottom edge - make straps, using self made binding, ribbon cord, trim or even bought bra straps to make it adjustable - 2 straps each side to tie at the shoulder would also make it adjustable & fashionable - maybe finish the front of the dress with a ribbon rosebud or bow

PS - shrink test your cloth first, cut a 10cm square & steam press it, if it shrinks you can work out the % & add to your cut cloth so that the finished dress still fits as you & DD want it to
