Mother's day ideas please.

I have a stall booked at a school pampering evening in about 3 weeks time and I'm trying to think of some items I can make that might be good little gifts for mother's day.

My normal range includes cards, diecuts, bookmarks, card toppers, cross-stitch samplers and cards, picture frames and mirrors.

Anybody got any suggestions for little bits and pieces I could make? I feel a bit devoid of imagination at the moment!

How about those little markers people put next to their seeds? Handmade ones can be lovely, I think my ds's will be making those for my Mum.

I also make little cards with pockets of seeds on (a vellum envelope does the trick), they're always popular. Sunflower seeds or love-in-a-mist on most cards; I have also done cooks cards with herb seeds.

Decorated p[lant pots- those little ceramic ones are so much cheaper than you think!

Can you guess my Mummy likes gardening?

Wrapped little soaps/ chocolates ( not together though!).

Also, planted bulbs in nice pots with a big ribbon?

Oh apparently those scented bags you put in your drawers are 'in' again too. And little boxes for lipsticks, presumabl;y for people who don't have to dig through the base of a nappy bag to get anything!!!

Photo albums (If you do them, pack them in a box wrapped in paper then with a few dried flower petals- goes down a treat and scents them too!)

Decorated notepads / shopping list pads

Little kits so kids can make thie own are also always popular. Fridge magnets, decorate your own frames etc. I always buy something nice for my Mum, then get the kids to make something for their grandparents.

Peachy Clair (or anyone), where can you get the little ceramic pots from cheaply, please? I want to do some at ds's birthday party.

B&Q and any garden centre generally will have them, go for the plain versions instead of the decorated ones (ie in the practical rather than decorated pots section) and presto!

As an alternative, BakerRoss are doing sets for kids at the moment: plastic (but paintable) pot with sunflower seeds all ready to decotrate and plant up, thought they seemed nice as a springtime activity. here (will take you to website but you ahve to search 'sunflower'). I used Baker Ross products at the ds's last birthday and they were very good.

Oh thank you, I did in fact pinch the idea from the Baker Ross catalogue but I liked the thought of having ceramic rather than plastic pots. I'll have a look in B + Q.
