Scrapbooking vs cardmaking

Hopefully a less controvesial thread this time

So which do you prefer to do?

I like the speed of cardmaking, something nice to show within an hour or so.

OTOH I like the larger scale of scrapbooking and being able to be a little more creative, with things that would look messy on a card!

I also like being able to create things that will hold memories of happy times for many years to come. I find it hard to part with some of my cards - I like that you get to keep the output from scrapbooking

But I woth full time, 2 children etc etc and I don't feel I have time to fit as much of either in as I'd like!

So over to you - what floats your boat as it were?

I love both equally....also love altering things and making ATC's. Guess I am just 100% addicted to all papercrafts!

I've never tried scrapbooking. It doesn't really appeal to me at the moment. WHat I may try (at some point) is sort of almost scrapbooking ! ie taking a couple of photos & making a page to frame as a picture ?? But cards & beady jewellery are enough for me right now!

After nearly 3 years of card making, the little bit of scrap booking I have done has been a real treat. I still love the cards but it's great to make something for me! You spend hour upon hour making cards and give them to someone else but ATM I have this newly found indulgence of making something that I can keep.

I hope that both card making and scrapbooking can work along side by side......with a little bit of beading thrown in too now ...of course!

Only just started scrapping. been cardmaking for 6 months or so but only just finished my first Double Lo (have 4 singles under my belt so to speak).

I love scrapping in that I get to keep the work after so I tend to spend more on the embellies etc. With cards I love making them as they're sometimes quicker and I try and sell them through dh's shop and online so I get to recoup a small fraction of what i spend on stuff

I am starting scrapping, but so far I prefer cardmaking coz I find it easier to plan (been doing it for years so may be experience) and I like the giving aspect, also don't need to fuss about acid free everything. BUT I like the memento-ability (new word ) of scrapping.

Well, I made it a card day today and have made about 8 or 9 cards, including the Marie Curie one (the charity pack that was in the Do Crafts bag.

I enjoyed it - but am desperately planning my next scrapping day and starting to look through my photos for inspiration
