what can you recommend... we have a HP psc 1317...and i cannot get it to print on anything but the crappiest card ...anything slightly good quality jams... it may be faulty.... has been printing a very 'inky intense' A4 sheet for me for the past 40 minutes!!!!

so if anyone has this printer and is managing no probs to print on over 180gsm card etc....ideally 200+...can you say...or recommend a basic 'home' printer...that can...i don't want to spend over £100....unless it is 'super-d-dooper-d-wonderful"

also...if i copied images i want onto a cd...would a shop that does printing print the images off for me...onto paper/card of my choice???

I have the Epson stylus photo rx425. It prints onto card and it prints photo quality 7 x 5 pics. It has a memory card slot so i can print directly from the memory card without the pc. it's a scanner and a photocopier. My dh sells them for £85 so it's under the £100 mark and it is super. Yorkiegirl has one as well.

Ive got the Epson RX425 too and its fabby for printing photos.....also have the Canon Pixma IP 5000, which is my work horse....I can feed anything through it and it prints fine....ribbon, Bazzill, 250 gramme cardstock etc etc.
The Epson is on special at PC world ATM.

Lexmark p6350 DH bought me one for Christmas it has a built in scanner as well and a card reader you can get them in Adsa under £80.

Mrs F....I was in PC world tonight and the Epson is reduced in their sale to under £80.

Pixiefish · 04/02/2006 11:49

Remeber that PC world will charge you £15 for a USB cable if you don't already have one. A lot of the smaller independents won't charge more than £2 or £3 (or even free in some)

UCM · 04/02/2006 12:51

I have the RX425 as well.

UCM · 04/02/2006 12:51

Sorrrry forgot to add, brilliant printer

Pixiefish · 04/02/2006 14:28

shameless plug here ucm and anyone else with this printer. dh does 'mates rates' for my mn and rl pals on ink. ask yg- it's cheap and good quality. he makes next to nothing on it- it purely is to keep stock ticking over and as a favour to me and my chums. if you're interested email thepixiefish at yahoo dot co dot uk . epsom printers only at the moment though
