Replacement dungaree button - can I get one?

Do you know the kind I mean? Metal, and sort of snaps through the material? Does anyone know what they're called, if you can buy them anywhere, or if you need a special tool or anything to fix them on with?

Would be very grateful to know, as then I could rescue my favourite pair of the toddler's dungarees - too cute to ditch if there's any way to replace the button!

Are they the same as a Jeans button? Can you post a photo?

I suppose they are the same as a jeans button, yes. Flat top and a sort of shank going through. Don't think I am photo enabled but will try and link to a picture.

Well, I can now reveal the staggering information that they appear to be called a dungaree button and are readily available in shops. Who knew?! Would still like to know if you need a tool to fix them on, though.

A small hammer works fine. Cushion the big end with some fabric against something solid then whack the small end.

Brilliant, thank you. Do you happen to know if any particular brands are good ones to look for?
